Braunston Boatyard on the Grand Union Canal. Each year the boatyard/marina hosts a "Working Boats Festival" and the highlight is the parade, when 80 or 90 working boats, ranging from 50ft to 72ft in length negotiate the tight turn out of the marina, travel ¼mile to the junction where they execute a three-point-turn (!) then return to the marina executing another tight turn into the marina basin. They all do this at the same time, passing each other all along the whole route.
Some of these pictures are taken in the wide open space of the marina basin.
For the uninitiated, the normal width of the canal itself is 30ft.
